PROFIBUS-DP is an optimized high-speed and low-cost communication system specifically designed for communication between device level control systems and decentralized I/O.When PROFIBUS-DP is used for high-speed data transmission on site,the master station periodically reads input information from the slave station and sends output information to the slave station.Currently,PROFIBUS-DP has three functional versions,namely DPV0,DPV1,and DPV2.The basic functions and features of PROFIBUS-DP implemented by DPV0 include the use of RS-485 twisted pair,dual wire cable,or optical cable for data transmission,with a baud rate of 9.6K-12Mbps.Equipment types include:(1)Class I master station(DPM1),central programmable controller PLC,etc.(2)Class II master station(DPM2),such as programmable,configurable,and diagnosable devices.(3)DP slave stations,such as decentralized I/O devices.The maximum number of stations(master slave devices)on the bus for token transfer between master stations is 126.The transmission of master slave user data adopts a cyclic approach,with a maximum input and output data of 246 bytes for each DP slave station.The master master data transmission adopts non cyclic mode;The data transmission between DPM1 and DP slave stations is divided into three stages:parameter setting,configuration configuration,and data exchange.
Because DPV0 only allows periodic data exchange between the master and slave stations,and does not allow non periodic data transmission,this makes the control process lack flexibility.On site devices such as circuit breakers need to change their original working state under certain control tasks,so it is necessary to achieve non periodic data transmission.DPV1 can achieve this requirement as an extension of DP,a supplement to the basic functions of DPV0,and is compatible with DPV0.The extended functions include:
Non cyclic data transmission can be carried out between DPM1 and DP slave stations;Non cyclic read/write function with DDLM read and DDLM write,capable of reading and writing any required data from the slave station;Allow alarm response,DP basic function allows DP slave station to spontaneously transmit diagnostic information to the master station,and the newly added DDLM-ALAM-ACK function is used to directly respond to alarm data received on DP slave station;Non cyclic data transmission between DPM1 and slave stations.
