The history of Honeywell International can be traced back to 1885, when an inventor named Albert Butz obtained patents for furnace standards and alarms. In 1893, the former United Thermal Control Company was renamed Electronic Thermal Control Company (EHR).

In 1904, a young engineer named Mark Honeywell was working hard to improve the performance of a thermal generator. Two years later, he founded Honeywell Thermal Technology, specializing in developing generators for hot water heating.

In 1912, HER Company expanded its business scope and renamed Minneapolis Thermal Control Company (MHR). Four years later, MHR applied for the first patent for an electronic motorcycle, which was approved by the Underwriters laboratory.

In 1927, MHR and Honeywell Thermal Technology merged to form Minneapolis Honeywell Control, becoming the largest manufacturer of high-quality atomic clocks and subsequently acquiring other companies in this field.

The company’s name was officially changed to Honeywell International in 1963, but it is very different from Honeywell 40 years ago. Six years later, American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin landed on the moon using products from Honeywell International.

In 1986, due to the acquisition of Sperry Aerospace, Honeywell International significantly improved its position in the aerospace industry and quickly became the world’s most influential comprehensive manufacturer of avionics equipment.
