Expand the number of GPIB devices to 26
GPIB-140A 186135G-01 is a high-performance bus extender. It has excellent scalability, which can effectively increase the number of bus connections while maintaining high speed and efficiency.
The National Instruments GPIB-140/GPIB-140A fiber optic GPIB extender eliminates the limitations of IEEE 488 standards on cable length and device load, while requiring almost no desktop space. The IEEE 488 standard stipulates that the total cable length of the GPIB system cannot exceed 20 meters, and the maximum number of devices is 15.A pair of NI GPIB-140A/2 bus extenders can extend the cable length to 2 km without affecting integrity GPIB or requiring any application modifications.GPIB-140A can use fiber optic cables up to 1 km in length.
These GPIB extenders use buffered transmission technology to transmit data at the industry’s fastest rate while keeping cabling costs to a minimum. Each extender has an error checking scheme to ensure error free links. The maximum data transfer rate for expansion through the GPIB-140A extender using the HS488 protocol exceeds 2.8 Mbytes/s.
GPIB-140A can extend the cables of the GPIB system by one kilometer without affecting the integrity of the GPIB or requiring software modifications. This accessory uses buffering transmission technology, with a data transfer rate of up to 1.1 Mb/s(IEEE 488.1)or 2.8 Mb/s(HS488).GPIB-140A can also increase the maximum number of GPIB devices in the GPIB system from 15 to 26.
application area
The GPIB-140A 186135G-01 NI bus extender is widely used in various application fields that require increasing the number of bus connections, such as industrial automation, communication, computer networks, etc.
