1.Overview

The Bently Nevada 1900/65A monitor is designed to continuously monitor and protect equipment used in a variety of applications and industries.It is low-cost and an ideal solution for general-purpose machines and processes that can benefit from continuous monitoring and protection.

2.Input and output configuration

Sensor input:Four sensor inputs are provided,and the software can configure each sensor input to support 2-wire and 3-wire accelerometers,velocity sensors,or proximity sensors.

Temperature input:Four temperature inputs are provided,each of which supports E,J,K,and T-type thermocouples and 2-wire or 3-wire thermal resistors.

Relay output:Six relay outputs are provided.Users can use the 1900 configuration software to configure the relay contacts to open or close based on the OK,alarm,and dangerous conditions of any channel or channel combination.

Recorder output:Four 4-20 mA recorder outputs are provided,and data from any variable from any channel can be provided on any recorder output.

Dedicated buffered output:A dedicated buffered output is provided to provide a signal for each sensor input.

3.Communication and configuration

Modbus Gateway:The Modbus Gateway option allows the monitor to provide static variables,status,event lists,time and date information directly to any Modbus client.Supported clients include distributed control systems(DCS),supervisory control and data acquisition systems(SCADA),program control and data acquisition systems(Note:This is repeated with DCS,which may be a typo or usage in a specific context),data acquisition systems(this may refer to systems similar or related to SCADA,but the names are different),and programmable logic controllers(PLCs).

Configuration method:Users can create configuration files using software running on a laptop or PC and download the files to the monitor through the built-in Ethernet connection to define the monitor’s operation and Modbus Gateway register map.The 1900/65A can permanently save configuration information in non-volatile memory and upload this information to a PC for changes.

4.Additional functions

Display/keyboard:Supports an optional display/keyboard for viewing channel information or making minor configuration changes.This allows the 1900/65A to operate as a stand-alone software package.If desired,the user can install the display up to 75 meters(250 feet)away from the monitoring module.

Channel configuration:The user can configure channels 1 to 4 to accept inputs from acceleration,velocity,or displacement sensors.The channel type defines the processing function applied to the input signal and the type of variable or measurement value derived from the input.It also defines the type of sensor that must be used.
