Since entering China in 1987, Schneider Electric has been deeply rooted in China, serving China, and always bearing in mind its corporate social responsibility. Since 2000, Schneider Electric has donated cash and materials worth nearly 100 million yuan to Chinese social institutions, including nearly 10 million yuan donated by individual employees. Schneider Electric has carefully planned a series of social responsibility projects, including the Luli project, the Bibo project, the emergency rescue project, and the university project, to continuously repay Chinese society.
Luli Project – Gathering Love and Planting Hope
The Luli Plan is an employee welfare project initiated by the Schneider Electric Headquarters Foundation and implemented globally at Schneider. The aim is to promote Schneider’s corporate social responsibility culture and philosophy among all Schneider employees, and improve the health and education status of impoverished children through employee participation. The Luli project has been going on for 11 years now, supporting the establishment of 9 Hope Primary Schools, donating multiple times to orphanages, special education schools, and children’s public welfare institutions, and carrying out projects such as medical assistance for impoverished children, bringing hope to countless children and families.
Bibo Plan [3] – Green Energy Efficiency, Illuminating Life
The Bibo Plan is an innovative and sustainable plan launched by Schneider Electric globally, aiming to provide the safest and cleanest energy to the most needy people in society. At the same time, it uses electrical related education and training to help impoverished youth master professional skills and embark on life. Since 2009, the Bibo Plan has successively implemented a vocational school funding project for migrant workers’ children, a public welfare scholarship project for college students, a new energy assistance project for non electrified villages, and a rural electrician training project in China. Through the implementation of these projects, Schneider Electric hopes to bring light to families in areas without electricity in China, and bring hope for learning and employment for impoverished youth.
Emergency Rescue – Rescue Operations, Love Endless
Schneider Electric China provides post-disaster reconstruction assistance to areas affected by major natural disasters through emergency rescue plans. In 2008, Hunan and Sichuan regions in China were hit by natural disasters such as snow and earthquakes. Schneider Electric donated nearly 9 million RMB worth of materials to the affected areas and actively participated in post disaster reconstruction projects. In 2010, Zhouqu County, Gansu Province was hit by a major mudslide disaster. Schneider Electric donated books and computers worth over ten million RMB to all 104 schools in Zhouqu County to help them establish libraries and computer classrooms. In 2011 and 2012, it organized volunteer Zhouqu visits and comfort activities for two consecutive years.
