There have been many new developments in the field of DCS correlation, mainly manifested in the following aspects.

(1) The system functions are developing towards an open direction. The structure of traditional DCS is closed, making it difficult to be compatible between DCS from different manufacturers. An open DCS system can give users greater autonomy in system integration. Users can choose different manufacturers’ equipment and software resources to connect to the control system according to their actual needs, achieving the best system integration. This includes not only the integration of DCS and DCS, but also the broad integration of DCS with PLC, FCS, and various control equipment and software resources.

(2) Instrument technology is developing towards digitization, intelligence, and networking. The intelligent and networked development of industrial control equipment can further disperse and shift down the functions of process control, achieving true “all digital” and “all decentralized” control. For example, SUPCON’s fieldbus system utilizes a HART protocol bridge to connect the system operation station and field instruments, thereby achieving communication between the fieldbus device management system operation station and the HART protocol field instruments
