Working principle

The working principle of the Penning vacuum gauge is based on the movement of electrons in a magnetic field.When gas molecules enter the vacuum chamber,electrons collide with gas molecules to produce ions.These ions are accelerated under the action of the electric field and hit the cathode to produce secondary electrons.By measuring the generated ion current,the gas pressure in the vacuum chamber can be calculated.
