I.Main features

Three versions:NI PCI-5421 offers three different versions of options,the main difference is the size of its onboard memory.Specifically,part number 778692-01 has 8MB of onboard memory,part number 778692-02 has 32MB of onboard memory,and part number 778692-03 has 256MB of onboard memory.

Arbitrary waveform generation:The device can generate user-defined arbitrary waveforms to meet diverse test needs.

Standard signal generation:In addition to arbitrary waveforms,NI PCI-5421 can also generate standard sine,ramp,triangle,and square wave signals.

High precision:To accurately generate waveforms,NI PCI-5421 uses direct digital frequency synthesis(DSS)technology.

2.Technical Specifications

Analog Output Channel:It has one analog output channel with an SMB(jack)connector,the DAC resolution of the output channel is 16 bits,and it is DC coupled.

Waveform summing:The output channels of the NI PCI-5421 can combine waveforms on similar paths,which means that the device supports waveform summing,so the output terminals of different modules can be connected.

Maximum Bandwidth:The maximum bandwidth of this waveform generator device is 43MHz,with a 7-pole elliptical filter.

Bidirectional Channel:It has two bidirectional channels with SMB(jack)type connectors and a frequency range of DC to 105MHz.As input,these channels are used as trigger channels with a maximum input overload of-2 to+7V voltage;as output,these channels can be used as outputs of event generators.

3.Application Fields
