VMIPMC-5565 is a member of the VMIxxx-5565 series of reflective memory(RFM)real-time network products.Other members of the series include the VME compatible board VMIVME-5565 and the PCI board VMIPCI-5565.All three products are compatible with the network and can be integrated into the network in any combination,allowing computers,workstations,programmable logic controllers(PLCs)and other embedded controllers with different operating systems or no operating system at all to share data in real time.

2.Features

High-speed fiber optic network:VMIPMC-5565 supports high-speed,easy-to-use fiber optic networks with a serial rate of 2.12 Gbaud.

Shared data:Data written to the reflective memory of one node is transmitted by the network hardware to all other nodes and is placed in the same address on the reflective memory boards of these nodes at a rate of up to 174MB/s.This data transmission does not require the participation of the processor on any node.Each reflective memory board can be configured with 64MB or 128MB of onboard SDRAM.

Multi-node support:supports up to 256 nodes.

Long-distance connection:The connection with multimode fiber can be up to 300 meters,and the connection with single-mode fiber can be up to 10 kilometers.

Dynamic packet size:supports packet sizes from 4 to 64 bytes,and the transmission rate ranges from 47.1MB/s(4-byte packet)to 174MB/s(64-byte packet).

Interrupt function:Any node on the network can generate an interrupt in any other node or all network nodes on the network through a command.These interrupt signals can be used to synchronize system processes or track any data.

Error detection:It has redundant transmission modes to suppress errors and has no processor overhead.
