RET670 provides selective and fast protection,monitoring,and control for two roll and three roll transformers,autotransformers,phase-shifting transformers,generator transformers,special railway power transformers,and parallel reactors.RET670 can operate correctly over a wide frequency range and adapt to system disturbances or frequency changes during generator start-up and shutdown.

The differential protection operates at an extremely fast speed,with CT ratio matching and vector group compensation functions,making RET670 an ideal solution for most applications.RET670 has almost no requirements for the main CT and does not require the configuration of an auxiliary CT.Differential protection can be used for multi circuit breaker wiring,up to 6 side current braking;The principle of second harmonic and waveform discrimination is used for excitation inrush current braking,and the principle of fifth harmonic is used for excitation inrush current braking during overexcitation.RET670 has extremely high sensitivity to minor internal faults in transformers.RET670 is a unique and innovative sensitive differential protection based on the symmetrical component method,which maximizes the response to inter turn short circuit faults inside the winding.The zero sequence current differential protection of low impedance type can serve as a supplement to the fast and sensitive main protection response to ground faults.Its additional zero sequence current direction criterion further enhances safety.

High impedance differential protection,as an optional function,can be used as zero sequence current differential protection.If configured according to phase,it can be used as differential protection for autotransformers,differential protection for the third coil of reactors,transformer interval T-zone protection in multi circuit breaker wiring or ring bus wiring,and third set of bus protection.Gas and temperature relays can trip through the RET670 device for pulse broadening and holding.The switch input has undergone reliable anti-interference processing,which can prevent misoperation caused by capacitor discharge when the DC system is grounded,for example.

Phase to phase and ground distance protection can serve as backup protection for transformers and systems.
