PXI-6608 is a multifunctional counter/timer module developed by National Instruments in the United States.It provides advanced counting and timing functions,suitable for a wide range of applications.

The PXI-6608(part number:777937-01)counter/timer module produced by NI is an enhanced version of PXI-6602,which adds a high stability clock,also known as a constant temperature crystal oscillator(OCXO).This module has eight up/down counters/timers,32-bit resolution,required power supply of 1 A to 2.5 A,300 mV Schmitt trigger hysteresis,measurement and source frequency of 80 MHz,input impedance of 25 kΩto 500 kΩ,and output impedance of 75Ω.Suggest a five minute preheating time and a temperature range of 0°C to 55°C to achieve these specifications.An important characteristic of NI PXI-6608

This module is called duplicate counting prevention or synchronous counting mode.This feature ensures that the counter generates accurate information in applications from non periodic or non periodic external sources.The prevention of duplicate counting is only related to the application of buffer counters,such as measuring frequency or period.During the application of the buffer counter,the counter should store the number of external source pulses between the rising edge of the gate signal.PXI-6608 Counter/Timer Module

The OCXO on determines the accuracy of user time measurement and pulse generation.OCXO can be used as a gate or source for counters.The third option is to use OCXO as the PXI backplane clock.Any module locked to the PXI backplane clock will achieve the same clock stability as the counter/timer module.The common reference clock signal can be used to coordinate multiple modules in a measurement or control system.

PXI-6608 runs using NIDAQmx driver software,which is compatible with software packages/application development environments(ADEs)such as LabVIEW,LabWindows/CVI,or Measurement Studio.

The physical size of the NI device is 16.0 x 10.0 centimeters.The recommended working and storage temperature ranges are 0°C to 55°C and-20°C to 70°C,respectively.The non condensing working and storage humidity ranges are 0%to 90%and 5%to 95%,respectively.
