NI SCXI-1121 is designed specifically for various sensors and signal inputs that require isolation.SCXI-1121 provides independently configurable isolation amplifiers,filters,and excitation sources for each channel.This module can collect strain,RTD,thermocouple,millivolts,volts,250 V,0 to 20 mA,and 4 to 20 mA current input signals.SCXI-1121 can reuse its channels as a single channel for DAQ devices,and you can add modules to increase the number of channels.This module also provides parallel mode operations.

SCXI-1121 includes four isolated amplifier channels with gains of 1,2,5,10,20,50,100,200,500,1000,and 2000,as well as four isolated excitation channels excited by voltage or current.SCXI-1121 also has a digital section for automatic control of channel scanning,temperature selection,and MUXCOUNTER clock selection.

The SCXI-1121 analog input consists of four isolated instrument amplifiers.Each channel can be configured independently using jumpers,with an input range of±2.5 mV to±5 V.Each channel contains a low-pass filter.

SCXI-1121 is a member of the National Instruments Signal Conditioning eXtensions for Instrumentation(SCXI)Series,used for the National Instruments data collection plugin board.This board is designed for signal regulation of strain gauges,resistance temperature detectors,thermistors,thermocouples,volt and millivolt power supplies,as well as 4-20 milliampere power supplies or 0 to 20 milliampere process current sources with high common mode voltage.SCXI-1121 operates as four isolated input channels and four isolated excitation channels.Each channel is isolated and can be configured independently through jumpers.

SCXI-1121 is used in conjunction with the National InstrumentsMIO-16 board and has complete functionality.SCXI-1121 is used in conjunction with Lab PC+boards in a single box SCXI system,with complete functionality.However,Lab PC+cannot control multiple chassis SCXI systems.You can use Lab NB,Lab PC,Lab LC,and PC-LPM-16 boards with SCXI-1121,but these boards can only control a single box SCXI system and cannot scan modules when configured in multi output mode.In this mode,these boards can only perform single channel reads.You can use SCXI-1121 with other systems that comply with the specifications in Chapter 2″Configuration and Installation”.You can multiplex several SCXI-1121 signals into one channel,greatly increasing the number of analog input signals that can be digitized.

The addition of shielded terminal blocks provides threaded terminals for the easy signal connection of SCXI-1121.In addition,the terminal block also includes a temperature sensor for thermocouple cold end compensation.The cold junction reference(CJR)is multiplexed with four input channels or connected to different channels of the data acquisition board through jumpers.

Using SCXI-1121,the SCXI chassis can serve as a fast scanning signal conditioner for laboratory testing,production testing,and industrial process monitoring.
