The 3500/60 module provides six temperature monitoring channels and accepts temperature inputs from resistance temperature detectors(RTDs)and thermocouples(TC).The module adjusts these inputs and compares them with user programmable alarm setpoints.The 3500/60 provides the same function,but the difference is that the 3500/61 provides recorder output for each of its six channels,while the 3500/60 does not.
Users use 3500 rack configuration software to program modules for performing RTD or TC temperature measurements.Different I/O modules have either RTD/TC non isolated or TC isolated versions.Users can configure non isolated versions of RTD/TC to accept TC or RTD,or a mixture of TC and RTD inputs.The TC isolation type provides 250 Vdc channel to channel isolation to prevent external interference.
When used in a three module redundant(TMR)configuration,temperature monitors must be installed adjacent in groups of three.When used in this configuration,the system adopts two voting methods to ensure accuracy of operation and avoid single points of failure.
