ProTech-GII is an overspeed safety device designed to safely shut down various sizes of steam,gas,and hydraulic turbines when an overspeed or over acceleration event is detected.

Acceleration detection

ProTech-GII can also be configured to protect turbines from high acceleration events.The derivative of the speed signal is used to detect turbine acceleration and issue related tripping commands.

Main control board detection

Each module’s speed sensor input uses a special MPU open wire detection circuit to verify whether the MPU is correctly connected before turbine operation,and uses a special stall detection logic to verify the MPU function during turbine operation.

Automatic overspeed test program

Alternatively,ProTech-GII can be configured to regularly perform overspeed tests on each module,and then record and report the test results.Through this testing routine,each module will use an internal frequency generator to simulate overspeed conditions and complete its testing sequence.

Resistance to sulfur pollution

ProTech-GII uses a special conformal coating material that has excellent long-term protection against H2S and SO2 gases,and its level complies with the international standard IEC 721-3-1994-Environmental Class 3C2.

Online repair

The triple module design of ProTech-GII allows users to easily replace one of the modules(A,B,C)while the turbine is online and running normally.The backboard plug and play structure of this device and its inter module learning function enhance the convenience of replacement.

ProTech-GII is a configurable overspeed detection system designed to safely shut down various sizes of steam,gas,and hydraulic turbines when an overspeed or over acceleration event is detected.Provide two dual redundant trip relay outputs using a 2 out of 3 voting architecture,or three independent non voting trip relay outputs with separate alarm relays,4-20 mA speed readings,and Modbus®Communication makes it possible for this overspeed device to be easily integrated into any turbine safety system.The ProTech GII model is a panel mounted,high/low voltage power input,voting relay/voting input safety device for steam turbine overspeed protection.

The 8237 1600 model can be configured for use with turbines of any size,as long as it is powered by steam,natural gas,or water.The speed reading of the acceleration device is between 4 and 20 mA.If a turbine of any size begins to accelerate dangerously,the model will safely shut it down.The panel installation has a backboard structure,making it easy to repair and replace.The 8237 1600 model can be easily integrated into any turbine system and is equipped with Modbus communication function.In addition to acceleration detection,it is also equipped with MPU detection.The coating of this product enables it to resist sulfur pollution and can be used in 3C2 grade environments.It has the international standard IEC 721-3-1994.

It uses three independent trip relays as well as low-voltage and high-voltage power inputs.The models 8237-1600 also use a two-thirds voting architecture.The overspeed detection device adopts a three module design,which can be repaired when the system is online.A module can run simultaneously with two other modules.Products 8237-1600 can also be used for routine speed testing using internal generators and frequencies.
